A Visit to the Canossa Home in Myanmar

Construction of a boarding house for poor children and training centre for the educators in Myanmar started in 2011, and the journey "Postulants (Myanmar + Singapore) Coming together for formation of Body, Spirit & Mind" began on 27 June 2012.

The latest 24 trainees from the 8th Batch of their Formation of Educators Course, which started on the 18th July 2015, will be graduating at the end of April 2016.

You can find out more information from the website: http://www.canossians-sg.org/

Our visit to the Canossa Home was just a short one-day affair i.e. to help deliver some bags of clothes, Sr. Janet's winter wear (which were distributed among their Educators to bring them back to their villages), and some love offerings to Sr. Angela, who is taking care of the home.

The home is about an hour drive from downtown Yangon, excluding traffic jam, ya...

Some of the girls were nicely dressed up for the festival mood of diwali, and we were fortunate to watch them sing and dance for us. Sr. Angela, also treated us to a nice lunch, shared with us about their works and challenges.

Andrew and John are two ordinary city folks who wish to be able serve the underprivileged and needy children in the less developed rural areas in South East Asia.

Our story begins after Andrew came back from his missionary trip to Paitan, Sabah in 2013.

He was filled with so much joy and compassion in serving the needy children that he organized another trip back there on the same year. Then, he invited John and a few others to join him. This was how OMG (Overseas Missionary Group) was formed...

Let us know, if you wish to join us on our next field trip to one of these places, or if you have any suggestions, queries, contributions...
